The first Gruge — The Invasion promo is here. It begins with one ordinary night at home, follows the invasion onto the streets of Baltimore, and gives the current first mission a place in the spotlight.
Vicki is fully playable with her 9mm handgun, alongside Gruge and his AK rifle. The current route starts on Battery Avenue beside Federal Hill. You can switch survivors in solo play while your partner helps fight, or control the pair separately in local co-op.
The promo uses the game’s native ImageGen artwork: the couch sprites, the broken window, the Baltimore street scenes, and the survivors’ complete combat poses. Vicki keeps her red mini dress and black heels. Rock guitar and bass from the current title score carry the edit, with the existing intro dialogue, gunfire, and glass effects.
The gameplay clips were rendered with the current game engine and its original world-rendering code, driven by normal gameplay inputs. A compact canvas HUD shows the engine’s actual health, score, and grenade values. The footage shows the present Battery Avenue environment and combat.
There is also a small but useful change to the game itself: Pause → Quit to title brings you cleanly back to the title screen. Your survivor and local co-op choices stay selected. Starting again plays the opening normally, and the menus remain inside the game window.
This remains a first-mission development build. Other districts marked as future routes on the city map are still in development. Play the current mission , and follow the journal as the next pieces of B-more take shape.
